Recalculating: Singapore Day 2 and Malaysia day 1 (Legoland Malaysia!)

For Part 1, refer to this link:

We woke up extra early that day so that we could go around the park earlier. Ninong Kench and I had planned to book in the same hotel prior our trip to Malaysia so that the Shuttle could pick us up in the same location; worrying that Singapore would have slight traffic causing his perfect schedule (and I mean it's planned out TO THE MINUTE) to be disrupted.

This is the lobby of our hotel (Fragrance Hotel in Geylang). They gave us a bunch of calling cards and told us to hand that out to our taxi drivers if we ever get lost. There was a map of the hotel at the back, and I must say, that was suuuper helpful. It actually has that minimalistic urban Japanese vibe that I want for my own home with Rai (Yes. Wedding planning realness). More windows + less lights open = saving the world (Go Team Planet!).

Here's Zumi and I waiting for the others to check out. She was sick that day so tita Badj and I were a bit worried that she might throw up on the way to Malaysia. Luckily, she was able to keep her cool until we arrived at the hotel room (where she made a big mess in the shower). SHe probably let it all out due to her excitement. I mean, c'mon, it's Legoland.

One of the best purchases I've made in my whole say was this white cap I got at some korean store at Bugis Plus. It was 5 SGD (NOT KIDDING) and had really good quality faux leather. Immediately after purchasing it, I took a photo and sent it to my mom. She told me to buy 3 more for my 3 other sisters.

Azumi being extremely patient on the way to Malaysia. That or she was focusing on holding it all in.

Okay here's when it get's really funny. The reason why we rented a shuttle was that we were told they would handle immigration for us. We were told (note: by friends) that come the immigration post, they would just check our passports, verify if it were us, stamp, then let us pass. Come the actually immigration gate, the officer had asked us to hold the car because they had to get biometrics of all of the Filipino passport holders. Ergo, I was left in the van since the driver of the shuttle had to assist everyone else. Hooray for Dual Citizenship, I guess. LOL

Welcome to Legoland Hotel!
The third happiest place in the world next to the Disney theme parks and the Universal Studio theme parks.

They had a few pillars that were partially covered in lego bricks. Check-in was a bit slow so the kids were by the pillar for a good 30 minutes then eventually moved to the Lego Castle.

Even the carpet was covered in Lego (thankfully not the real  ones or else those would've hurt).

Lego has always given me that magical feeling of being young forever. I'm 23 now and yet I probably had more fun than Azumi. My dad first introduced me to Lego building at the tender age of 6. He didn't even bother getting me the kiddie lego. He went straight up "Let's build a city" and bought 6 lbs worth of Lego. a decade later, he started buying the Star Wars Lego for my baby sister Nike (aged 8). He bought her the Millenium Falcon...

This has got to be one of the most astounding parts of the hotel, The Lego minifigure wall. The wall is immediately behind the concierge. Here's a bit of trivia about Legoland: If you see a staff member wearing a "Trade With Me" nametag, you can actually trade your own minifig with the minifig on their nametag. Cool right? If I had only known this sooner, I would've traded in my blank (paint faded away) minifig for the Indiana Jones one.

Here's another thing about the concierge: Remember the Lego pillar pit? Well sometimes, kids and adults make amazing builds and just leaves it by the pit once they're done. The staff save them behind the concierge for safekeeping. If someone spots it and decides that they want to play with it, all you have to do is ask the staff! I asked for the lego R2D2 shown in the photo but a little kid wanted it too. I let the kid have his R2D2 them moment he told me "But I need him to match my X-Wing!".

He had me at X-Wing...

We came mid November so they already had their Christmas decorations set up.

THE GIANT LEGO PIT.

THE DISCO ELEVATOR. URBN BGC should get one for themselves. "Pre-tugs tugs" HAHA. But, seriously now, this one was really interesting. The music and lights don't play if the elevator is empty. Once you enter, BAM, Disco.

Inside our room, there was this teeny treasure chest with a monkey on it. According to Koji, if we figure out the code and open it, we get the "treasure". He couldn't figure it out so I told him to rest (since we were going to the park in a few minutes) and I'll be the one to open the chest. True enough, there was "treasure". A bunch of lego keychains, minifigs, and a Lego police build kit.

The main "chamber". The room was pretty big actually. It had one queen sized bed (the only bed inside a separate room. You know, for the parents *wink wink*), and 2 bunk beds (one bunk bed = 3 beds). The room was the Premium Pirate room and cost about RM1500 (PHP16,792.86 as of 1.25.16) inclusive of 2 adult and 2 kids tickets to the theme park (not the water park).

The Hotel exit nearest to the park.

The wonderful entrance covered with Lego bricks.

I apologize for being too "tourist-y" but I couldn't help it.

We had lunch at the Market Restaurant. It was pretty cute. I got the something-chicken with Biryani rice (Obviously not called "Something Chicken". I forget what it was, really). It was reaaaaaally good. The chicken was soooo moist and the rice was soooooo flavorful.

One of the first things we rode was the observation tower.

Little Trivia: The tower stands at 60 meters high, Nearly twice the height of the tallest tower made of Legos (114 feet, July 7, 2015)

OKAY OKAY. PROBABLY THE BEST PART OF THE PARK WAS THE STAR WARS MINILAND. I TOOK SO MUCH PHOTOS I SWEAR.

I thought I died and went to Lego Star Wars Heaven...

I remember sending this to Rai with the caption "Prisoner of Love". His reply?

"Matagal na.."

Come around 4PM, it had started to rain really hard. Luckily, we were already in the Lego Studio.

This ride was a bit of a cash hoarder. You had to get your photo taken before you ride the cars. After the whole driving lesson (which was difficult for Koji since, here in Manila, we're left wheel drivers), they would ask you if you want to purchase a driver's license.

I mean, come on. The kids are going to force their parents to get them the damn license. Koji was such a sweet boy and said "No thank you. It's too expensive". Then I got guilty and bought him one anyway.

Ninong and Koji rode the Dino Island ride. They told me that it was basically Log Jam of Enchanted kingdom with more animatronics. I could tell that they really liked it, though, because they rode it 3 times consecutively.

Kyra, Tita Badj, Azumi, and I ate by the food stall between Dino Island and Pharoah's revenge. Their burgers were HUGE. And it had this really really good

One of the genius things that you can see around the park are the cooling sheds. They're basically just canopies with large fans and mist blowing nonstop. It was really hot that day and this was extremely helpful.

One last photo op before we headed back to the hotel. Legoland Malaysia was amazing. Hopefully, Rai and I could save enough  money to go to Legoland California (THE MOTHERSHIP OF LEGO)

That's it for day 2! Til my next post!
