Recalculating: Six Flags San Antonio, TX, USA [Photowalk]

SUPER LATE POST I'M SO SORRY. I've been really busy with TUNNL recently and I haven't had time to update my blog. :(

I went to Six Flags all by myself because tito Jojo and Ninang Apple had work, Celia wanted to rest, and tita Lou was busy with the kids. I lugged around Brownie (Canon 6D) the whole day; which I thought at the time was a  big mistake. It was scorching that day. It was hotter in San Antonio than when Rai and I went to Batangas. No joke.

Houston Museum of Fine Arts

I've been dying to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts the moment I arrived Texas. There was a special exhibit by Yayoi Kusama that day and I really really wanted to see it. Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out so all I was able to see were a few sculptures she had.

There was a really long line when my grammy and I got there. It was probably 15 dollars for the entrance. Not bad. Not bad.

Rai's Bday Salubong - Pyromusical

This was actually my birthday surprise for him that he found out cuz I had a slip of the tongue. I bought us tickets to the Philippine Pyromusical competition for the 12th of March. Luckily, we had the day where China and Australia were performing.

Overly eager boyfriend who can't wait to see the fireworks. He couldn't sit still prior to the start of the performances.

The Shrimp Bucket: Date with Rai

There's this restaurant that my uncle Calel has been telling me about. Rai isn't fond of seafood so we never really got around to try it. I was finally able to nag him enough to go with me. Unfortunately, he didn't eat. Fortunately, there was more shrimp for me. HOHOHO

They have two branches. one in Ground Floor, Grand Hamptons Tower 1, 31st Street, corner 2nd Avenue, Fort Bonifacio Global City, 2nd Ave, Taguig, 1634 Metro Manila

Another at Ground Floor, UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City

The one Rai and I went to is at Second Floor, Il Terrazzo, Tomas Morato Avenue Corner Scout Madrinan Street, South Triangle, Tomas Morato, Quezon City

The place was pretty small. The moment we opened the door, the scent of shrimp overloaded our olfactory system. It smelled so scrumptious.

RECALCULATING: TAGAYTAY STAYCATION | 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

As some of you may know, Raymond and I became official on March 16, 2015. For our anniversary this year, we decided to have a staycation at the Summit Ridge hotel in Tagaytay.

___________________________________________________________

He was a very giddy boy on the way to Tagaytay. I tried taking a "Fast and the Furious" kind of shot but he kept on making weird faces.

So I gave up trying to take a serious photo of him.

KYRA'S 20TH BDAY AND ONE HELL OF A RIP-OFF

So my sister celebrated her bday last March 1st. She told me that she's always wanted to dye her hair blue so I decided to send her to the salon as my bday gift for her.

Normally, we go to Peps of Famous Salon (he's been our stylist since we were kids) but he was out of town that day. I've been hearing a lot of good reviews from a certain Salon (I'm not going to say WHAT salon, though. I'll let you figure that one out) so I decided to book her there.

RECALCULATING: CAFE TRAVEL

I was in the area of Taft recently (I visited my grandmother. You can find the photos here) and decoded to visit my fraternity brother Allan '93 in his new cafe. Cafè Travel gives this Korean Cafè -Coffee Prince Vibe. Its so homey, I could stay there forever. I remember Brod Allan consulting me about certain coffee drinks a few months ago (to which I could only answer questions about whip cream since we didn't tackle coffee in Pastry school.). He was surprised that it took me this long to actually drop by.

RECALCULATING: SINGAPORE DAY 4

_____

_____

And what is a Singapore trip without a visit to Universal Studios? It was our second time here (our first time was here) and honestly, nothing has changed. Okay, maybe there was one new ride but we didn't bother lining up for the new Puss in Boots ride.

RECALCULATING: Singapore Day 3

_______
______

I always get so excited for hotel breakfast buffets. It's probably the fact that I don't normally gorge on so much food on a regular basis.

...Okay that was a lie. I always stuff myself with food.

But I still love hotel breakfasts.

Happy 26th Birthday Aureli!

They say that a seven year friendship will last a lifetime. I'm a year behind with my bestfriend but I think we've already figured things out enough to know that our friendship will last forever.

This handsome pokemon is my bestfriend, Pikachu Aureli.

Personal thoughts on the Manny Pacquaio issue.

Taken from my facebook page:

"I absolutely abhor Vice Ganda but I'm indubitably not anti-LGBT. In fact, I'm agnostic and doubtful of the laws that govern our country.
What I am, though, is pro humanity. Something Vice Ganda should be (despite calling herself a horse. *snicker snicker*) and what Catholicism should be for.
Personally, I don't understand the hullaballoo that is anti-LGBT. Why do you have to negate the existence of these beautiful people? What is the point of denying these people of their rights? Why is the bible, the book whose foremost intention is to propagate peace and love, being used for so much hatred? It's funny how these rational and substantial questions are mostly answered with inadequate and often asinine answers from people either uneducated enough to know anything or are just plain condescendingly prejudiced. The funny thing is, these people don't even know how earth-shattering Manny's statement is.
To all the homophobics out there, listen up: these LGBT peeps aren't going anywhere. They aren't plagues to society but a big part of the same human race that built it.
It's either you learn to accept them as members of society or you die fighting for something not worth anything.
Edit: so someone shared this post and added the hashtag ‪#‎ProHumanity‬ . That person is a genius. That hashtag should be a thing.
#ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity #ProHumanity"

I would like to expound my first sentence. I don't like Vice Ganda. I absolutely dislike her. Her style of comedy is too offensive. Heck, it's tasteless. Despite my somewhat innate hatred towards comedians like her, I respect her as a person. That being said, I understand her plight but I cannot fully agree that she is the most credible person in terms of "being offended" ergo I'd rather LGBT members like Pitoy Moreno, Raymond Gutierrez, Aiza Seguerra, Tim Yap, (et al) were the faces of the issue, and not her.

Meh. These are just my opinions anyway.
Who cares, right?

UP Sigma Delta Phi Batch 2012 Christmas Party

So my batchmates in the UP Sigma Delta Phi Sorority (Diliman chapter) and I decided to have our annual Christmas party in Garage 88. It's along Katipunan extension and is a bit easy to miss since its on the top floor of a tiny building.

Recalculating: Singapore Day 2 and Malaysia day 1 (Legoland Malaysia!)

For Part 1, refer to this link:

We woke up extra early that day so that we could go around the park earlier. Ninong Kench and I had planned to book in the same hotel prior our trip to Malaysia so that the Shuttle could pick us up in the same location; worrying that Singapore would have slight traffic causing his perfect schedule (and I mean it's planned out TO THE MINUTE) to be disrupted.

This is the lobby of our hotel (Fragrance Hotel in Geylang). They gave us a bunch of calling cards and told us to hand that out to our taxi drivers if we ever get lost. There was a map of the hotel at the back, and I must say, that was suuuper helpful. It actually has that minimalistic urban Japanese vibe that I want for my own home with Rai (Yes. Wedding planning realness). More windows + less lights open = saving the world (Go Team Planet!).
